It was a blistering hot day in the Umgeni Valley at the Duzi Canoe Marathon. To cool off I was in standing in the river, fully clothed, waiting to photograh a friend as he came round the bend. The strong current made the grass sway frantically so I was very lucky to get this dragon fly when he settled near me.

i am glad that you did manage to get a shot of this beautiful dragonfly Cheryl. A super sharp shot & love how you have captured all the fine details & transparency on his wings. Well taken

Thank you Helen

Again Cheryl another super shot but the interest is all up at the top and that is where the viewer will look not at the bottom. The attitude of the Dragonfly is superb, being on the RHS "flying" into the picture, but I would like to see maybe 25% - 3o% cropped off then bottom. Again hold a piece of card across and see what I mean.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I nearly cropped it as a landscape but obviously changed my mind.
