Langdale Pikes
A view of the Pikes looking across Elterwater. The early light of a very cold early morning in January 2006 gives an apparent warm glow to the Pikes. It was extremely cold that morning and by the time I got back to the car, my fingers were too cold to undo the laces on my boots. I'm back up there again in a week's time and I'm hoping for similar conditions.

You might be lucky. This week it has been very cold -8 in my garden but the forecast is for rain next week.

There's a feeling of bitter coldness about this scene, generated by the freezing mist filtering among the trees, and the white tips of the foreground reeds, this belies the warm colours of the sunkissed peaks, and the pinkish hues reflected in the water,
a beautiful shot Alan, I luv it!

Now when I saw the thunbnail I thort it was another from your trip across the pond, but no The Lakes. Nice warm glow on the 'Pikes' contrasting with the cold mist in the trees as Merlynn says, cracking shot Alan, worth the frost bite

Nice blend of colour.

probably me needing to calibrate the monitor ( its been 3 weeks so a bit worried if thats the case) but i sense two different colour temperateures here. Not the fact that the colours are supposed to be different but almost as if this has been ( what i call) zoned and altered in temperature. Its a lovely shot but there is something just nagging at me.
