Hi,
I find that the images I have posted always look washed out a little on the gallery page and when first opened to show exif data. But when I click on an image, the enlarged/enhanced version shows more saturation with considerably more vibrance and detail. Why is this? I an running a 20" iMac.

Without getting into too many technicalities Roger, the the image you see when you open a thumbnail is of much lower resolution than the finished image - and to get to a lower resolution something in the image has to be sacrificed I'm afraid. Take your mosque image. Open the thumbnail, right click on the image and select Properties from the pick list. You will see that the filesize is only 70.12kB whereas the filesize of the full-size image is 211kB. This is why it is alway important to open the full size image before you make comments.

Hope this is enough to answer your question Roger.

Regards

Keith

Yes and thanks SS. It is reassuring to know that it affects everyone the same. I was getting a little paranoid! Smile
